Dear Fly Fishing Organizatons,   With the end of 2011 trout season upon us, The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum extends our welcome to all organizations during the 'off season'.   We are open.

Despite the abundance of rain this summer and fall, the CFFCM had a very exciting year, much as a result of the many TU chapters who lent us some assistance and support.  With the aid of The Mid Hudson TU and the NE FFF we refinished our bunkhouses; Mid Hudson, Croton Watershed, and Greene County chapter of TU provided guiding and meals to our visiting vets involved with  Healing Waters; and the Long Island FlyRodders and Theodore Gordon Flyfishers had a very successful stream clean up day on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc and lunch for everyone.  Our year continues with  financial support from many other organizations to keep flyfishing  alive and provide a center for fly fishing.   On November 12 & 13, The CFFCM will host the 5th annual Arts of the Angler Show in Danbury, CT.  We hope you will share information with your members and all fly fishers.  A mention on your calendar or website and encouragement will be a bonus.

Looking forward to 2012 the Catskill Rodmakers Gathering members have initiated the building of a Heritage Craft Center to feature rodmaking, fly tying, net making, and other arts of the flyfisher.  Combined with the construction of the Wulff Gallery and a meeting room with 150 seats, the CFFCM will be able to provide further education, programs, and history to our following generations.  You will soon learn more of this expansion and we will enlist your help to make it happen.    We welcome your continued support and share this information to your members and fellow fly fishermen to stop by and check it out.

Thank you for doing your part to preserve the past, protect the  present  and promote the future of fly fishing; we are in it together.    In Fly Fishing,     Jim Krul Executive Director, CFFCM   The CFFCM, home of the  Fly Fishing Hall of Fame, Hardy Bros. Cup bamboo casting competition, The Demarest Rodmaking Gallery,  and The Poul Jorgensen Golden Hook Award.  Its all about fly fishing.
