Went up last night above Riverton. Sulphurs were coming off in light numbers. I had a couple of hits on some pale evening duns I tied up. I had forgotten how cold that water was and actually got too cold! Today I went up to Colebrook and played with some smallies that were hitting the ol' two legged grasshopper I have.

Tomorrow looks like a run to the E.B. of the Westfield or possibly the Swift or who knows.

If it weren't for the summers I would not be able to teach, especially now a days. Everyone thinks it is so easy.....

Anyways, heading up to the Farmington this afternoon.
Last Wed. Rob and I went up and fished E. Branch of the North River as well as the main branch. Brookies are so much fun. Even better without crowds, just Rob and I. It was beautiful.

I, for one, have nothing but respect for the patience and dedication of teachers (as a whole) I got a BA in English with the intent to teach; a few classroom hours in rough middle-schools scared me straight. 16 year-olds in the 8th grade who confused the Pacific ocean with South America is just depressing, it's the fact that they just don't care, and have no intention of 'moving beyond their means', that put me off. Not to mention the metal detectors at the entrances of the school, and no recourse of teachers to deal with threats from kids. I didn't have the stuff, that's for sure. People seem to point their collective fingers at the education system that fails kids, but it's really their home situation that sets the stage for their behavior and learning apathy. Kudos to you, Madison, for what you do - I think a summer off is the least they can do.
